Better Late Than Never

I finally have the time to write about Christmas Break..

This Christmas was different from past because for the first time in over 10 years, I got to spend it with my Dad. This year is one that will always be special in my heart.
My family and I have built up traditions for this time of year that we have been keeping up for years: Attending the Christmas Eve service at my church, Waffles at my grandparent's house afterwards, presents with my Sisters starting at noon, and then Christmas Day dinner at my house. My Dad was a part of this and it meant a lot to me to have him there. My family was very hospitable and welcoming in having him join our traditions.
My Mom and I sing in church together quite often and this year we had the opportunity to sing O Holy Night in the Christmas Eve service. It's such a beautiful song and a blessing to sing on such a wonderful night. My Dad has never before heard me sing and as he listened to me on Christmas Eve it brought tears to his eyes. I know that was very special for him.

In the week following Christmas, I traveled to Knoxville Tennessee to visit my Grandparents on my Dad's side. I haven't seen them in over 5 years and I can't even describe they joy they expressed when they saw me. I smile now just thinking about it! I spent New Year's Eve in Knoxville, unfortunately missing a celebration with my friends and a visit to New Orleans to see my amazing Step family :( But I know it was worth it to get to spend a few days with family I don't get to see very often.

I know I say it often but I am very blessed to have the loving family that I have.

P.S. I have also quit my job at The Home Depot... Wasn't worth the stress ;)
